The AIAA Sydney Student Branches are excited to be attending the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) together in Adelaide in September this year. Join the AIAA student groups from USYD, UNSW and UTS at the the world’s largest annual gathering of space professionals, and take advantage of discounted group accommodation and social events.
It is anticipated that more than 3,000 space professionals, including astronauts, heads of space agencies, engineers, scientists, innovators, legal and policy specialists, interested parliamentarians and students will attend IAC2017 in Adelaide this year. This is only the second time in its 67 year history the congress will be held in Australia - the last time being almost 20 years ago in Melbourne, making this an extremely rare occasion.
IAC runs from 25 to 29 September, falling in the semester 2 mid-semester break for UNSW and USYD students, making this an ideal chance to attend for the full week. If you are unable to attend the full week due to university or study commitments, we have a limited number of spaces for Monday to Wednesday at the conference.
Accommodation will be at the Adelaide Central YHA in a share room with other participants of the trip. Please note the AIAA trip ticket price does not include IAC tickets or transport to Adelaide. Student IAC tickets are $145 until June 30 and can be purchased at http://www.iac2017.org/. We recommend booking flights soon, as prices will rise steeply as IAC approaches. We will be requesting flight numbers after ticket sales and will look to coordinate transport between Adelaide airport and the accommodation.Packages:
